Friday 4/27 & Monday 4/29

Today students will decide on their main image for their shading project.

Step 1:  Choose and print a picture of your main image.

Step 2:  Make a contour line drawing of that image with paper and pencil.

Step 3:  Draw a 1 inch gird over the top of your Contour line drawing.

Step 4:  Choose a size window for your image to crop your drawing (just like we did with our face paintings)   If you have a smaller picture, choose the smaller window 3 x 2 inch window.  If your picture takes up most of your paper, choose the larger window, 4 x 3.  Apply window to grid picture and decide what part of your drawing you want to use.

Step 5:  Draw a grid on your larger paper (18 x 12 inch paper) LIGHTLY.  If you chose the small window, your grid will be 4 inches by 4 inches on your big paper.  If you chose the large window, your grid will be 3 inches by 3 inches on your big paper.  MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE!  If you do not know...ASK! :)

Step 6:  Begin drawing following your contour line drawing square by square onto your lager paper until the whole drawing is complete.

Step 7: Begin shading.  Each section of your drawing should be shaded dark to light!
